Joining the Alliance
The BME Career Alliance is a 510 (c) 3 non-profit organization that seeks to facilitate interactions between Biomedical Engineering / Bioengineering Programs and industry. We assist these programs by providing resources and additional opportunities (internships, co-ops and entry-level positions), enhancing local efforts. Our goals include:
- Providing a group of talented students from universities through out the country access to industrial experiences and assisting these students in achieving their goals of rewarding industrial careers.
- Increasing knowledge and building positive perceptions of BME students in the biomedical industry.
The BME Career Alliance offers its member institutions:
· Additional internship, co-op and job postings for your students
· Connections with colleagues in other Biomedical Engineering programs
· Industry specific career education, resources and guidance for your students
· Resource sharing
· Local, regional and national industry contacts (access to our database of contacts)
· Staff training and support (we can help new staff members get started and connect with other professionals with similar programs)
· First notification for your students of regional and national industry events
· Opportunity to host regional conferences and to raise money for your program
· Professional development workshops
· BMES Conference Events including: resume workshop, alumni career panel and the student/industry mixer
· Link of your program on our website for students and industry partners
· Marketing materials that can be tailored to your program
What is required to Join?
You must have a local effort and at least one individual dedicated to serve as "coordinator" for the Alliance. This person should be willing to communicate with other Alliance member universities. There is also an annual fee assosiated with Alliance membership.
